Description
Valley Stores and the associated house is an 18th-century building that has been extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with a plastered exterior and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The structure has three bays facing south, with a central stack that creates a lobby entrance. At the rear, there is a 19th-century single-storey extension, which has been incorporated into a flat-roofed two-storey extension from the 20th century. To the left, there is a flat-roofed single-storey shop added in the 20th century. The building stands two storeys high and has a two-window range of early 19th-century sash windows, each with 20 lights and handmade glass. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a simple canopy above. Inside, there are two wood-burning hearths that have been reduced for 20th-century grates. The left bay contains a chamfered transverse beam with run-out stops, while the right bay has a chamfered axial beam without stops. The building also includes cambered tiebeams.
