Description

Tuckett's Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 17th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with some areas of exposed imitation framing, and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The house has four bays facing northwest, with an internal stack located against the rear wall in the second bay from the left. To the left, there is an extension from the 18th or 19th century, and a 20th-century extension at the front, creating a T-plan, along with a single-storey lean-to extension to the left of this. The building is two storeys high.

On the ground floor, there are four 20th-century casement windows. The first floor has two 20th-century casements, plus an additional one in a gabled dormer above the lean-to. There is also a 20th-century door. In the bay to the left of the stack, there is a 16th-century inserted floor that includes a chamfered axial beam with step stops and plain joists of horizontal section supported on pegged clamps. In the two bays to the right, there are chamfered axial and transverse beams, and joists of horizontal section, also chamfered with step stops and supported on pegged clamps. The walls are close studded, with much replacement timber, and were raised in the 17th century. The stack was substantially rebuilt in the 20th century. The farmhouse was shown as Tuttock Farm on Chapman and Andre's map of 1777.
