Description
The Olde House is a cottage dating from around 1725, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from timber framing and weatherboarding, topped with a red plain tiled gambrel roof. The building features a rear extension and has red brick chimney stacks on both the left and right sides. It is one storey high with attics, and includes four catslide dormers and four two-light small paned casement windows. The central porch, which is a 20th-century addition, has catslide roofing supported by straight brackets and features small paned double doors. Inside, there are two red brick fireplaces with iron soffit ties, and the walls show through bracing with the frame exposed. The Olde House was once used as a workhouse.
