Description

This barn, located approximately 40 metres west of Chapel Farmhouse, dates from the 18th to 19th century. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with a hipped grey slate roof. The structure features two gabled midstreys and consists of 11 bays. It has hanging knees to the tie beams and a moulded king post roof structure, with serpentine braces on the walls. This barn is noted for being an unusually fine example of its type in the area and still serves its original purpose for storing wheat and barley.
