Description
The Hermitage is a mid-19th century house built of red brick in Flemish bond. It has two storeys and three bays, topped with a ridged gabled slate roof that features stone coping and two end chimney stacks, each housing three square shafts. The central front door consists of six fielded panels and is sheltered by a wooden porch with an arabesque design and a concave leaded roof. On either side of the door are pairs of eight-pane hornless sash windows, and there is a matching range of three sash windows on the first storey. The ground floor windows are set beneath brick arches, with the first storey positioned under the eaves. There are one-storey extensions with hipped roofs on both the left and right sides of the house.
