Chigwell Village Stores, Gorgys And Hilltop

Chigwell Village Stores, Gorgys, and Hilltop is an 18th-century house that has been divided into three parts. The building features a timber frame, with sections that are weatherboarded, mock timber framed with roughcast render, and plastered. It is topped with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles and is oriented approximately northeast to southwest, facing southeast.

The structure is two storeys high with attics. Chigwell Village Stores has a central glazed door and a slightly bowed shop window with 24 lights on each side. Above this, there is mock timber framing. On the first floor, there are three double-hung sash windows, each with 16 lights, dating from the early 19th century, along with a hipped dormer that contains a 19th-century casement window.

Gorgys features weatherboarding on the ground floor and mock timber framing above. The ground floor windows are from the 20th century, while the first floor has one 19th-century casement window and a hipped dormer with a 19th-century casement window.

Hilltop has a plastered ground floor and weatherboarding on the first floor. It includes a 20th-century door and casement window on the ground floor, another casement window on the first floor, and a hipped dormer with a 19th-century casement window.
