Description

Muggins is a house dating from around 1600, with a roof added in the 18th century and a 20th-century extension on the left. The building is timber framed and roughly rendered, topped with a hipped red tile roof and standing two storeys high. It features a five-window range of 19th-century iron casements with small panes. There is a 20th-century door located at the rear and three red brick chimney stacks. The earliest reference to the site dates back to 1447 when it was called 'Mogones', and by 1542 it was known as 'Muggins'. Inside, there are chamfered and stop-chamfered beams, along with a brick fireplace from around 1600 on both the ground and first floors. Additionally, there is an 18th-century corner cupboard and 18th-century doors with hinges and catches.
