Description

Netherhouse Farmhouse dates to 1767, although it incorporates an earlier section to the rear. The house consists of a front wing built in the 18th century and a rear wing of an earlier date, arranged parallel to each other. It is constructed of yellow brick with old tiled roofs; the front wing has a hipped roof, while the rear wing is gabled. The two-storey front features a parapet and four sash windows with glazing bars. The right-hand central doorway is arched and has a fanlight above, surrounded by reeded pilasters and consoles supporting an open pediment. A recessed single-storey, single-window wing is located on the left-hand side. It is reputed that the farmhouse contains a hall gallery. Netherhouse Farmhouse is part of a group with its barn.
