Description
The monument to US servicemen was erected in 1948 by the Essex Anglo-American Goodwill Association. It is a brick tower, square in shape, with bricks laid in Flemish bond. The tower features a moulded stone base on a concrete plinth, a drip mould, and a pedimented cap. On the north-east face, there is a concrete plaque displaying the EAAGA blue arrow-shaped symbol, inscribed with the words: "WE SALUTE AND/COMMEMORATE/THE SERVICE/AND COURAGE/OF OUR/GALLANT ALLIES/OF THE/184 AAA BATT/US ARMY/IN THE DEFENCE OF LONDON 1944."
