Description
No. 54 on Head Street is an early 17th-century house with a notable red brick front that dates from 1774. The building has two storeys, attics, and cellars, and features a timber-framed and plastered structure with tiled roofs. At the back, there are two pairs of small hipped gables. The west front includes a parapet and a modillioned brick cornice, along with a five-window range of double-hung sashes. The central upper window is blocked and has a shouldered brick architrave. The central doorcase features an open pediment head and decorated pilasters, a semi-circular fanlight, and panelled reveals, leading to a six-panel door. Nos. 44 to 62 (even) form a group with No. 17 Sir Isaac's Walk.
