Description
No. 59 North Hill is a 17th-century building that was largely rebuilt in the 18th century. It features a facade of red brick and consists of two storeys and attics, with tiled roofs and cellars. The front of the building is divided into two sections. The southern section has two storeys, two dormers, a parapet, a band below, and a two-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The northern section is at a lower level and also has two storeys, with coping and a band between the storeys, as well as a two-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. It boasts a fine Georgian doorcase with a pediment head, a decorated frieze, and clustered pillars. The ground floor features a new three-light sash with glazing bars. Nos. 55 to 60 North Hill form a group.
