Description
60 North Hill is a building that originally dates from 1650, with the front block rebuilt in the mid-18th century. The front is made of red brick and consists of two storeys, featuring a parapet and a heavy wooden cornice with modillions. It has two symmetrical bay windows that are also two storeys high. The central part of the front protrudes slightly and is topped with a pediment. It includes an upper storey Venetian window with brick mouldings and thick glazing bars. The central entrance is framed by a Tuscan doorcase, which is accessed by a flight of steps with a single handrail. This entrance features an open pediment, an arched entrance, a fanlight, and a six-panel door. Inside, there is an early 18th-century staircase and some contemporary panelling. The 17th-century rear wing retains its original ceiling beams. The buildings numbered 55 to 60 form a group.
