Description
No. 57 North Hill is a 17th-century building that was altered in the 18th century. It has two storeys and is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with tiled roofs. The upper storey projects at the front and features double-hung sash windows, some of which have glazing bars. The ground floor includes a large bay window, and there is a railed enclosure leading to the basement or cellars beneath it. The doorcase is adorned with a flat modillioned hood and plain pilasters, accessed by a flight of steps that has a curving handrail. No. 57 is part of a group with Nos. 55 to 60 North Hill.
