Description

The Church of St Barnabas is a Grade I listed parish church located in Great Tey. The building features walls made of rubble, with brick and freestone dressings. Originally designed in a cruciform shape, it dates back to the 12th century. The chancel was rebuilt in the early 14th century, and the north and south transepts were added in the late 14th century. A notable feature of the church is its central tower. The chancel also retains its original roof, which consists of seven cants and is plastered.
