Description

Rectory Cottage is a 16th-century house, now divided into two separate dwellings. It is timber-framed and roughcast, forming a two-storey structure aligned north-south. The north end of the building has a projecting or jettied section, now faced with casing. The front facade features three windows, with modern clear-glazed sash windows on both the ground and first floors. Two modern porches shelter the irregularly placed front doors on the east side. The roof is ridged and gabled, covered in peg tiles, and has four later chimney stacks. Two wings extend to the rear of the main building; the southern wing is weatherboarded, while the northern wing is constructed of red brick and includes a rendered lean-to addition at the northeast.
