Description
Mott's Farm House is a 15th-century house that has been extensively rebuilt. It consists of a four-bay range that is two storeys high and aligned north-south, featuring a peg-tiled roof with gables at both the south and north ends. The existing windows are casements that date from around 1920. The frame includes a two-bay hall on the first floor, which originally had a crown-post roof that was rebuilt around 1700. The north bay has been partitioned to create a buttery and pantry, while the south bay served as the Solar. Extending to the east from the southeast is a two-storey framed unit with one and a half bays, which contains earlier features than the main range. Both sections were built after 1512, as indicated by the diminished haunches used on all joists.
