Description
No 14 High Street is a shop and offices built around 1870, featuring a late 20th-century shopfront. The building is constructed of brick with stucco dressings and has a roof behind a parapet. It has a high Victorian Venetian style and stands four storeys tall with a two-bay front. The first and second floors have round arch windows, with the first floor featuring pointed tympana and the third floor having depressed two-centred arch windows. All windows are adorned with colonnettes and enriched arches, and the building includes impost and cill bands, pilasters, a corbelled cornice, and an arcaded parapet. The tall wooden shopfront, dating from around 1993, has fluted pilasters, consoles, a cornice, and a fascia with 3-D lettering reading '14.A OWEN WARD.14', along with later plate glass shop windows. The interior has not been inspected.
