Description
No. 7 Market Street is a shop and office building dating from around 1880, with alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stucco dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical front and stands four storeys high, with a two-window range. The windows are plain sashes that have projecting surrounds and a sill band on the first floor. The ground floor includes a late 20th-century shopfront. Above this, there is a canted ashlar oriel window with three lights and an arched cornice. Each floor above has two windows with cornices, while the third floor features segment-headed windows. A moulded cornice supported by brackets runs along the top of the building.
