Description

Nos 11 and 12 on East Street are buildings with origins in the 16th century, featuring alterations and additions from the 17th century. They are two storeys high, constructed with timber framing and plaster, and have tiled roofs. Some of the timber framing is exposed, and the upper storey projects at the front. The ground floor has modern 2-light leaded lattice casements, while the upper floor has modern 3-light casements. The doors are also modern. The buildings were reconditioned in 1936 by the Colchester Civic Society, which is noted by a plaque on the front.
