Description

Nos 49 and 51 on High Street are early 16th century buildings with a 17th century wing at the west end. They are two storeys high with attics, constructed from timber framing and plastered, and feature tiled roofs. The buildings have cellars and have undergone alterations in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries to their fronts. The façade includes a three-window range with double hung sashes that have glazing bars, and there is a plaster cornice. Inside, early 16th century moulded beams, some 17th century turned balustrading, and remnants of a stair-tower can be seen.
