Description
East Mills, also known as E Marriage and Sons Limited, is a mid to late 19th-century building located on the north side of East Street. The front block appears to have been constructed in two parts and features a later tower at the back. The front block is made of yellow brick, stands four storeys tall, and has eleven windows with segmental arches. It includes strip pilasters that rise to three round arches on the end elevation. The roof is slated with hipped gables and has bracketed eaves. There is a timber hoist loft and a later entrance door. The tower, also built of yellow brick, has a pyramidal slated roof and corbelled eaves, with round-arched windows and triangular dormers. Nos 70 to 75, which are consecutive, form a group with East Mills and the Mill House.
