Description

Danbury Post Office, located at Nos 58 and 60 on Danbury Main Road, is a 17th-century house constructed with a timber frame and plaster, which was altered in the late 18th century and is now covered in cement render. The building has two storeys and features a five-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars, set in flush eased frames. The doorway is adorned with a fluted architrave that includes corner roundels and is topped with a small hood supported by brackets. The ground floor has shop fronts that were added in the 20th century. The roof is tiled, and the west gable is finished with weatherboarding. This building is included for its group value with nearby structures, including The Griffin Inn, The Chantry, and Lingwood House.
