Description

Hyde Hall Cottage is a house from the mid-16th century. It features a timber frame with exposed framing and 20th-century brick nogging on the ground floor walls. The first floor is rendered between the studs, while the east wall is covered in black weatherboarding. The cottage is two storeys tall, with an east gable and a stack, as well as an off-centre ridge line stack, forming a 'T' shape. It has 20th-century oak framed leaded light casements. Inside, there is an inglenook stack, stop-chamfered spine beams, jowled posts, and heavy tie beams and braces. It may not have originally been a dwelling but has always been divided into two floors. The house has group value with the adjacent Hyde Hall.
