TL 71 NW HYDE HALL COTTAGE SP/284

II 2. GV House, mid C16. Timber framed with exposed framing and C20 brick nogging in ground floor walls. First floor rendered between studs and east wall black weatherboarded. Of 2 storeys, with east gable and stack and off-centre ridge line stack of 'T' plan form C20 oak framed leaded light casements. Internally there is an inglenook stack, stop chamfered spine beams, jowled posts and heavy tie beams and braces. Possibly not originally a dwelling, but always divided into two floors. The house has group value with Hyde Hall adjacent.
