Description

Baddow House is a large 18th-century red brick house with group value. The east front has five window bays, and the west front has three. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars in plain reveals, topped with segmental arches. A stone band runs at first-storey window sill level on the east side. On the west side, the ground-floor windows are set in segmental-headed recesses, and a central doorway features a Tuscan doorcase with plain columns and a pediment. 19th-century buildings are linked to the north and south ends by curved walls, incorporating blank arcading on the south side. The interior includes a circular entrance hall with a wrought iron circular staircase. The tiled roof is double-pitched, with stopped gables at the north and south ends, featuring stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
