Description

Gowers is a late 16th century timber-framed house that has been largely refronted in the 18th century and later. The south front features red brick, while the east side is covered in weatherboarding and the west and rear are plastered. The house is two storeys high with a three-window range, displaying double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in painted reveals. There is a central six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, which is framed by a doorcase that includes an architrave and a dentilled pediment. The roof is tiled and half-hipped at both the east and west ends. Inside, the house retains exposed timber-framing.
