Description

The Woodham Ferrers War Memorial is a tall obelisk made of roughly hewn stone. At the bottom of the front face, there is a shield with the inscription: "IN EVERLASTING AND / GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE / OF THE MEN / OF WOODHAM FERRERS / WHO SERVED DURING / THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1919." The obelisk flares out onto a capital, which is situated above a plinth. The front face of the plinth reads "OUR GLORIOUS DEAD," and it lists the names of the Fallen. Additional names are inscribed on the other three sides. The plinth is supported by a three-step base, also made of roughly hewn stone.
