Description
Old Post House is a timber-framed and plastered house that dates back to the 17th century. It was refronted in the 18th century and underwent renovations in the 20th century. The front features roughcast panels and the building is two storeys high. It has a five-window range, with the first storey displaying three-light casements that have leaded lights, while the ground storey features double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The doorway is framed by a wooden doorcase with narrow panelled pilasters and a dentilled cornice supported by brackets. The roof is tiled and hipped at the south-west end. Old Post House is part of a group that includes Parsonage Cottage, House of Retreat with Old White Horse, 1 and 2 White Horse Cottages, St Michaels Cottages, Vale House, The Folly, Rose Cottage, Butlers, and House and Mount Stores.
