Description

Franklyns is a late 18th or early 19th century timber-framed and plastered building, square in plan. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical appearance. The south front has three windows, while the west front has two, with one upper-storey window blocked. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A central doorway is accentuated by a hood supported on brackets, located on the south front. The roof is tiled and hipped. The building is part of a group of listed buildings in the village, which include Dweina, No 1 Elm Cottage, Lime Tree Cottage and the Almshouses, all of which are of local interest.
