TQ69SW BRENTWOOD ROAD, Ingrave 723-1/9/214 Stable complex 30m south of Dairy Farmhouse

Stables and flat, former implement shed with loft over, south of Dairy Farmhouse (not included). Early C19. Red Flemish bond brick work with parapetted, gabled pantile roof. Of 2 storeys with C20 agricultural buildings abbutting the north flank. All eaves have brick dentils and stone copings to parapets. The south (roadside) elevation has 3 brick string bands and a loading door with semicircular arched head. Ground floor has 2 semicircular arched recesses with 6 pane windows. Short length of boundary wall attached to south west corner has part of further blind recess. The long flank elevations have 2 string bands and 3 semicircular windows to loft, the outer 2 blind and the centre 2 on each side with C20 windows. The ground floor, where not obscured, has 5 semicircular arched openings with recessed panels, all now blocked and with semicircular attached flanking columns with brick capitals. A further opening, towards south end of each elevation has simpler detail without half columns. The rear, end elevation is similar to the south but with half columns flanking 2 ground floor openings. INTERIOR: roof has soft wood Queen posts, one only truss surviving unaltered.
