Description

A row of eleven early 19th-century terraced houses stands on the east side of Coptfold Road. The houses are stuccoed with ashlar detailing and have slate roofs. They are two storeys high and arranged with an L-plan, incorporating a ground-floor service block to the rear. The front elevation has a continuous parapet and a moulded cornice. Each house has a ground-floor doorway with a semicircular fanlight set within a moulded stucco architrave. A single ground-floor window mirrors this detail, with a moulded architrave surrounding sash windows with 3x4 panes of glazing bars. The first-floor windows have projecting stucco keystones and plain surrounds for their sash windows, also featuring 3x4 panes of glazing bars. The houses are paired, sharing front doors and chimney stacks in the party walls. Some windows retain hinged slots for partial opening of the upper sash. Front doors have been replaced at different times, and some fanlights are now blocked.
