Description
Lashes Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1600. It is timber-framed and rendered, with a roof made of flat factory-made tiles. The building is one and a half storeys high and has a long rectangular shape consisting of three cells. The front features a three-window range with 20th-century wooden casements that have top opening lights, along with two dormer windows and a gable window on the west side. There is an off-centre stack and a minor stack in the east gable, both of which have been restored. The front door is boarded and aligned with the principal stack.
Inside, the farmhouse is said to have exposed square-section ceiling joists in each of the three rooms, which bear carpenter's marks. The layout and position of the fireplace suggest a central hall with an unheated room to the west that once included a dairy. To the east, there is a heated parlour with a heated chamber above. The rear has a 20th-century porch and a glazed door, along with a lean-to on the ground floor.
