Description
Vineyard Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof covered in handmade red plain tiles. The cottage has three bays facing southeast, featuring a central stack, and was extended by one bay to the right in the 20th century. It is one storey high with attics. The ground floor has five 20th-century casement windows, with four additional windows in gabled dormers. There is a four-panel door, two of which are glazed, set within a rustic porch added in the 20th century. The roof is half-hipped at both ends and includes a bell-turret on the ridge. The heavy hardwood frame is of high quality, fully jointed and pegged, and features chamfered beams with concave stops. Inside, there is a wood-burning hearth.
