Description
Wren's Cottage is an 18th-century house located on Bradwell Church Road in Pattiswick. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red plain tiles. The cottage has five bays facing northwest and features a stack in the middle bay against the rear wall. It is one storey high with attics, and includes three 20th-century casement windows along with four additional casements in lean-to dormers. The entrance has a 20th-century halved door topped with a bracketed gabled canopy. The roof is half-hipped at both ends, and there are no rear extensions. The main frame is pegged, and the interior includes chamfered transverse beams with run-out stops. There are two large wood-burning hearths, one of which is blocked while the other has been reduced for a 20th-century grate.
