Description
Church Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is timber framed, plastered, and has a roof made of handmade red plain tiles. The house has four bays facing southeast, with an axial stack located in the second bay from the left end, and there are 20th-century extensions at the rear of the right end. The building is two storeys high and features a three-window range of 20th-century casements. The entrance has a 20th-century six-panel door, which is framed by an 18th-century moulded architrave, pulvinated frieze, and an incomplete moulded pediment. The left bay, which was originally the parlour, includes a chamfered axial beam with limb's tongue stops. Much of the interior features re-used 16th-century timber that was previously plastered over but has now been stripped. There are two large wood-burning hearths and two plain internal doors from the 18th century.
