Pair of attached cottages, now one house. C18, altered in C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with C20 red clay pantiles. 5 bays facing E with central stack. C20 porch to rear. 2 storeys. 4-window range of C19 casements. 2 ground-floor windows and all the first-floor windows have C20 external shutters, each with a pierced diamond. Plain boarded door in C20 rustic porch and one blocked doorway. The rear elevation is partly clad with old tarred elm weatherboards; the remainder is all of C20 softwood. Jointed and pegged main frame, mostly of elm and softwood; nailed studs, including some re-used timber, and primary straight bracing. Axial beams of vertical section, thin joists of vertical section. 2 wood-burning hearths, back to back. Subject to application no. LB/BTE/0359/87/B at time of survey, May 1987.
