Description
Owl's Hill Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the 19th century. It is timber framed, plastered, and has a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The cottage has three bays facing southeast, with a central stack that creates a lobby entrance and an internal stack at the right end. There is a 19th-century extension at the rear right. The building is one storey with attics and features two 19th-century casement windows, along with two additional casements in swept dormers. The entrance has a central 20th-century door and the cottage has a gambrel roof. Two tusk-tenoned beams extend through the front wall, with one also visible externally at the rear. Internally, these beams are chamfered with lamb's tongue stops, and the plain joists have a vertical section.
