Description

Terling Church of England (Aided) Primary School and the adjacent house to the east were built in 1868 and extended in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from gault brick with limestone dressings and feature slate roofs. The school consists of two ranges that form a T-plan, facing south, each with a gabled porch, and there are minor 20th-century extensions on the left. A 20th-century stack is located in the rear range. The house is situated to the right of the school and has an internal stack at each end. There are 20th-century classrooms in the rear right angle. The school is a single storey, while the house has two storeys.

On the south elevation of the school, there are two four-light windows with trefoiled heads and cast iron lattices, along with a 20th-century door set in an original gabled porch. The roof is steeply pitched and features a stove pipe at the middle of the ridge with a conical cap. The west elevation includes one similar window, one three-light window with trefoiled lights and a cast iron lattice, two 20th-century casements, a 20th-century door in an original gabled porch, and another 20th-century door. The house has a three-window range of cast iron latticed casements and a central 20th-century half-glazed door with a segmental brick arch. The front elevation of the house steps forward twice towards the middle and also has a steeply pitched roof.
