Description
This is a square dovecote located approximately 10 metres east of Hayeswood Farm House, built around 1839. It is constructed of red brick and flint, featuring a hipped grey slate roof topped with a square wooden frame. Each face of the dovecote has two loop entrance holes, and above these, a pointed hip supports a ball finial. The walls are accented with a red brick plinth and an ornate, dentilled eaves band. There are pilaster strips at the angles and center of the flint panels. The front and rear have vertically boarded doors, and some nesting boxes are still present. This dovecote is part of an unusual and interesting farm complex.
