Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres south-south-east of Farding's Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. It is timber framed, weatherboarded, and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The structure consists of three bays aligned northeast-southwest, featuring a midstrey to the southeast. Notable architectural details include jowled posts, heavy studding with primary straight bracing, face-halved and bladed scarfs in the wallplates, and a butt-purlin roof. Originally, the midstrey was situated to the northwest but has since been relocated to the southeast. Additionally, the roof of the northeast bay has been rebuilt.
