Description
Taylor's Farm Cottages is a house that has been extended and divided to create a range of cottages. It dates back to the 17th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles and slate. The main range consists of three bays facing west, with a two-bay crosswing to the left and an internal stack at the junction. To the right, there is a 19th-century extension featuring one axial stack and an external stack at the end. The rear has single-storey and two-storey lean-to extensions from the 20th century. The structure is one storey high with attics. On the ground floor, there are seven 20th-century casement windows. The first floor has one 20th-century casement in the crosswing and four more in gabled dormers. There are three 20th-century doors at the sides of the 20th-century lean-to porches. Inside, the building features chamfered axial and transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops, and the interior is mainly plastered and modernized. It was recorded by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England as Great Farsley Farm.
