Description
The wall forming the south-west and south-east boundary of All Saints Churchyard dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed of red brick in both English bond and Flemish stretcher bond. The wall runs approximately 45 metres in a north-west to south-east direction and extends about 57 metres to the north-east from its south-east end, creating the boundary between All Saints churchyard and Terling Place. There is one gateway located to the south-east of the church. The wall measures 0.46 metres thick at the base, mainly 0.33 metres thick, and stands around 2 metres high. The brick coping has been renewed. This wall is depicted on an estate map by John Walker from 1597, marking the northern boundary of the mansion that was then owned by Sir Thomas Mildmay. It is included for its group value.
