Description
This barn, located 60 meters west-northwest of Whitehouse Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with a thatched main roof and midstreys covered in handmade red plain tiles. The barn has eight bays aligned north-south, with two midstreys to the east. There is a lean-to between the midstreys, likely original, which is also weatherboarded and roofed with a combination of black glazed and red unglazed pantiles. To the south of the southern midstreys, there is an open lean-to shelter that is roofed with slate. Additionally, there is a small lean-to extension to the north of the northern midstreys, which is also roofed with slate. The barn features a pegged main frame, primary straight bracing, and a clasped purlin roof.
