TL 64 SE STEEPLE BUMPSTEAD 2/77 Granary approx. 6 metres ESE of Smiths Green Farmhouse GV II

Granary,late C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red clay tiles, base walls of red brick. 2 bays aligned E-W. 2 storeys. Straight braces trenched inside heavy studding. Joists of vertical section jointed to beam with soffit tenons with diminished haunches, lodged at outside. Original floorboards. Bins in situ on first floor. Roof rebuilt with ridge, C19.
