Description
Parkgate Farm outbuildings, located approximately 90 metres west of the house, date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are primarily timber framed and weatherboarded, with red brick and flint bases, topped with red Roman tiled roofs. The buildings are single storey, arranged in an E plan with four ranges, including an attached range to the left.
The three forward ranges face the road, with the left range serving as an enclosed stable featuring double doors to the road, three louvres, and a stable door on the right side. The central range consists of a three-bay byre and a one-bay enclosed stable, supported by straight braces to the top plate. The right range contains a six-bay byre, with hanging knees supporting the tie beams.
The rear range includes a three-bay cartlodge and a seven-bay threshing barn, both featuring hanging knees to the tie beams, through bracing to the walls, and a high-quality king post roof structure. To the left rear, there is a five-bay cartlodge made from matching materials, also with hanging knees to the tie beams.
