Description
The communal bakehouse, built around 1875 for Samuel Courtauld, is located adjacent to the right of 18 Park Cottages. It is constructed of red brick with some gault brick dressings. The building is square in shape and features a hipped red tiled roof, which is topped with three rows of scalloped louvres and shingle tiles at the apex. A central external chimney stack is adorned with stone and gault dressings. On either side of the bakehouse, there are iron casement windows with ornate glazing bars, and a vertically boarded door is located at the rear. This bakehouse was part of the village complex designed to serve the local cottages and is a rare example of an estate-style building.
