Description

This is an early 16th-century timber-framed house, likely built around 1500, located at 28-34 Rayne Road, Bocking. It has been significantly altered over time. The gables project forward at the eastern and western ends; originally, these were jettied on the first storey but are now underbuilt by 20th-century shops. The front of the house is now rendered with pebble-dash. It is two storeys high with attics, and has a five-window front with 20th-century metal casement windows, featuring glazing bars. The roofs are tiled, with a central gabled dormer window.
