Description

This is a pump located 13 metres east of Woodhouse Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of wrought and cast iron, with a wooden structure. The iron mechanism is positioned between two wooden posts, and the end of the handle is enlarged with an ovoid knob that serves as a counterweight. During the survey in October 1986, the mechanism was noted to be complete, although the posts were broken at ground level and the entire structure was concealed and obstructed by ivy. The pump is marked on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey map and is included for its group value.
