Description
Gestingthorpe Hall Dovecote is a 17th-century structure located approximately 100 metres southeast of Gestingthorpe Hall. It is timber framed and plastered, with some brick repairs and 19th-century batten decoration. The dovecote features a pyramidal red tiled roof with four apex gables and a finial, as well as a gabled dormer on the east face. Each gable has an original moulded bargeboard. Above the door, there is a carved lintel with the initials I.E.A., likely representing I & A Elliston. The east wall contains brick-built pigeon holes, numbering approximately 130 to 140, with additional holes present in other walls.
