Description

20 and 22 Chippinghill is a building from 1841, located on the north side of Chippinghill. It features a 19th-century red brick front that covers an earlier timber-framed and plastered house, which may date back to the 17th or 18th century. The façade includes a parapet with a serrated brick band and a brick coping. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range with double-hung sashes that have single vertical glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The ground floor has two three-light bays with a wooden fascia that extends across the front. The roofs are hipped and tiled.

This building is part of a group that includes No 18 and the Smithy, Nos 20 to 30 (even), the Parish Church of St Nicholas, the Vicarage, No 35 (Barnardiston), Nos 43 to 55 (odd), No 2 (White Horse Public House), and Nos 4 and 6 Church Street.
