Description
The Lodge of Colne Park is a building dating from around 1800. It is constructed of gault brick in Flemish bond, with limestone and plaster dressings, and has a slate roof. The lodge has a T-plan layout, with the main elevation facing the park drive to the southeast and a crosswing to the northwest, featuring one axial stack. It is a single-storey structure. There is a flat-roofed extension to the east, added in 1986, which is in a similar style. The facade is distinguished by four Tuscan columns and a pediment that encloses a stone coat of arms in high relief, accompanied by the legend 'Je vive en espoir'. The building includes two original sash windows with 12 lights and eared Egyptian surrounds. The roof has a low pitch that aligns with the pediment, and there is a doorway located in the left return. The crosswing is accentuated by corner pilasters.
